To enrich his Private Blend Collection, Tom Ford created, in 2013, a perfume based on oud wood called Tobacco Oud dupe. This unique essence, freed from the usual conventions of perfumery, immediately aroused the admiration of true perfume lovers. Today, Tom Ford has therefore decided to repeat this experience and intensify its character. This is how the new Tobacco Oud Intense was born.
The Private Blend Tom Ford Perfume Collection
Tobacco Oud Intense is a fragrance that comes from the Private Blend Collection. This is an assortment of exclusive fragrances that opens the doors to the very selective world of Tom Ford. Most of the fragrances from this assortment are very original and are based on deep and fascinating notes. Private Blend juices fully belong to Tom Ford’s universe and meet his personal tastes. These are fragrances with often complex and very successful recipes.
Tobacco Oud Intense is fully anchored in this universe. It is a sophisticated, seductive, and somewhat provocative scent. With him, originality is in order and we are far from the often too commercial species of today.
Oud wood, the star ingredient in Tom Ford fragrances
In fact, this is not the first time that Tom Ford has worked on oud wood, far from it. Indeed, as explained previously, he is already the creator of the Tobacco Oud perfume and this new opus is only a more Intense version. On the other hand, Tom Ford had already devoted his first fragrance to this ingredient in 2007, Oud Wood. At that time, it was a matter of profound originality.
Indeed, if it has been a few years since oud wood has been more widely used in perfumery, in 2007, on the other hand, it was still very little known. This time, Tobacco Oud Intense explores oud wood in an innovative way, associating it with smoky aromas of flavored tobacco.
The depth of the new Tobacco Oud Intense fragrance
Tobacco Oud Intense is a fragrance that blends sacred oud wood with vapors of “dokha”, a blend of aromatic herbs, flowers, and spicy tobacco that was smoked 500 years ago on the Arabian Peninsula. Other ingredients also spice up this composition. The coriander here releases its peppery breath and, in a sense, resembles the scent of lavender, so dear to men’s perfumery.
Likewise, to assert the character of this juice, Tom Ford also incorporated other woody notes such as cedar, sandalwood, or patchouli. The tonka bean envelops the whole thing in a milky scent. Amber makes this juice more syrupy.
Its sensuality, for its part, shines through in an animal breath of castoreum. As always, Tobacco Oud Intense is delivered to us in a bottle directly inspired by an apothecary’s flask and whose glass is entirely lacquered in black, the designer’s favorite color.
